Vacher and I build a house

After the S-1 got blown up, I discovered a standing Battalion Order that the S&C (Secret & Classified) documents were suppose to be staffed 24 hours a day. This was so the safes could be destroyed if we got overrun. Since the locals had thoughtfully cleared the land for us, Vacher Hearn, Jr. and I built a new house adjoining the S-1 and CONEX box with the S&C safes. One of us was always there after we built the house.

After 1999 reunion, looked up Vacher on the internet and called him on the phone for the first time in 30 years. He retired a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
